Vegas vs Columbus: prediction for the NHL game
Vegas Golden Knights
Vegas played five games in a row at home, delivering mostly successful results. They suffered one bitter defeat to Carolina (2:4), conceding two goals in the third period. The Golden Knights also experienced minor problems against Minnesota, but didn't allow the Wild to level the score and won in regulation (3:2).
The Knights won the rest of the games quite easily, looking especially great against Detroit (5:2) and Vancouver (7:4). Overall, Vegas are in excellent form and will be looking to collect another two points at home.
Columbus Blue Jackets
Columbus also mostly played at home recently. They lost two out of four games to the Rangers (3:5) and Washington (3:4), both goaltenders Korpisalo and Merzlikin acting unreliably. But the Blue Jacketsmanaged to prevail over Detroit (5:3) and Colorado (4:2).
After that, the Jackets travelled to Arizona, where they snatched a strong-willed victory in the shootout (4:5 SO). Forward Jenner had an excellent game and scored a double.
In 3 out of 4 head-to-head matches, the teams failed to score more than one goal in the first period.
In 2 out of 3 head-to-head games, the teams have scored in each period.
Vegas gained excellent momentum at home and should keep earning points. Columbus are in optimal form, too, and quite often put up a fight against powerful opponents, but the Knights are stronger on paper and we bet on their victory today.
Our prediction - Vegas to win
We expect a high-scoring game here, since both sides are not used to sitting back in defense and prefer open hockey.
Second bet -total over 5.5 goals
